Cutting and Pasting from Code to Design View

FrontPage 2003 has a new view pane feature- Split view with both a Design pane and a code pane. Now you can simultaneously see the code associated with the area of the page you are working on in Design view and vice versa. When working in Split view sometimes a paste can come across as code when pasting into the Design view pane from one Web page to another. Or you may intentionally want to select a page element in code view on one page and paste it into the Design view on another.

To cut and past from Code to Design View, open the necessary Web pages in FrontPage 2003 and do the following:

  1. Select a page element in the Code pane of either Code or Split view and press Crtl-C to copy it to the clipboard.
  2. Select the location where you want to paste to the other page in Design view and press Crtl-V to paste the code selection from the first page.
  3. Immediately select the down arrow on the smart tag that appears at the end of the code paste.
  4. Click Treat as HTML Tags.
  5. Select Save.
